Lydney residents are advised to plan for upcoming traffic disruptions as Gloucestershire County Council prepares to temporarily close a section of Mount Pleasant.

The traffic authority intends to issue an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to close a 50-metre stretch of Mount Pleasant, located directly outside the property known as 'No. 24 Ridler Road'.

The closure is required to allow utility teams to execute essential repair works on behalf of Severn Trent Water. Work is scheduled to begin on August 25, with the road expected to reopen by the end of August 26. Should unforeseen delays occur, the order can legally remain in effect for up to 18 months.

Pedestrian access to neighbouring properties and emergency vehicle access will both be fully maintained throughout the duration of the works, with alternative signed routes available.
