Forest of Dean District Council has released details of several new planning applications submitted across the district, including proposals affecting conservation areas, listed buildings, public rights of way and developments that fall outside the existing local plan.
Among the applications is a request for Listed Building Consent at Moat Farm, Moat Lane, Staunton (P0131/26/LBC). The proposal seeks permission to replace the roof, windows and door of the historic property, as well as install a new rear canopy above existing double doors. As the property lies within a conservation area, the application will be carefully assessed to ensure the works preserve the building’s historic character.
Two developments have been flagged as not appearing to accord with the current development plan. The first (P0282/26/FUL) is for a self‑build “live‑work” dwelling on land known as 2 Acres, Staunton. The second (P0248/26/OUT) seeks outline permission for the construction of four new homes, with access and layout confirmed, on land north of Bayfield Gardens, Dymock. All other matters, including design, would be considered at a later stage.
Two further applications involve proposals affecting a public right of way. At Shepherds Hill, Red Ditch Lane, Redmarley, the applicant (P0277/26/FUL) is seeking to vary an existing occupancy condition to allow an annexe to be used for short‑term holiday lets and temporary residential rental in addition to ancillary use. Meanwhile, at Skycroft, Woodside, Woolaston, Lydney, an application (P0221/26/FUL) has been submitted for a partially retrospective garage outbuilding.
Residents wishing to comment have until April 15 to submit written representations. All comments will be made publicly available online.
Forest of Dean District Council has also received two new planning applications, including proposals relating to a listed building and a development that does not align with the current local plan.
At Mia Rose Nurseries on the Lydney Park Estate, an application has been submitted for the erection of a new building to provide additional space as part of the nursery’s planned expansion. As the site involves a listed building, the plans will be assessed for their impact on the historic setting.
A second application , for land west of Little Orchard, Gloucester Road, Hartpury, seeks to vary approved plans, altering the design and layout of a previously granted scheme. The council notes that this proposal does not appear to accord with the current development plan.
Applications may be viewed online or at the council offices in Coleford. Representations must be submitted by April 22.
