NINETY-NINE-YEAR-OLD Mary Thick, along with another 26 elderly pensioners, has been left in 'limbo' after Hygrove House announced its closure last week.

Hygrove House, which was taken over from Southern Cross just over 18 months ago, is set to close in the next following months.

HC-One, the healthcare management company, said they came to the difficult decision to close the Minsterworth care home because its layout, location and environment are not suitable to enable the standard of care that is required for the residents.

Faith Cox, Mary Thick's daughter, said: "We're all in limbo at the moment. We were told a week ago it would close and I think we've got about three months to find somewhere else."

"My mum will be 100 next February and there are residents of up to 102 years old at the care home - how do you move a person like that? It took a long time for her to settle in."
