PENSIONER James Fairclough has been jailed for seven years for repeatedly sexually abusing a young girl and turning her world upside down.

The 81-year-old was found guilty of abusing the young girl when she was aged between five and eight years old.

Gloucester Crown Court heard the offences took place over several years at a house in Beachley and caused the girl psychological damage.

Fairclough of Harewood Drive, Royton, had denied sexual activity with a child under 12 between 1 December 2005 and 31 January 2010, three charges of assault of a child between the same dates and one of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
