A CAMPAIGNING pensioner attempting to save the Wilderness Centre from being sold is now serving a 21-day prison sentence for contempt of court. John Timbrell, aged 72 from Drybrook had planned on invoking an ancient common law to prevent Gloucestershire County Council selling the former educational centre in Mitcheldean. Before Monday's hearing at Gloucester County Court Mr Timbrell explained that his lawsuit application was using the term 'lis pendens', a legal definition involving the title of a property which gives notice to the building's owner and any potential buyer that there is a claim on the property.
