PARENTS are being warned to be on their guard after a 12-year-old boy was approached by an unshaven man in Mitcheldean.

The boy was walking across a car park at Dene Magna School when a grey 'dirty looking' hatchback style car stopped nearby.

The driver then asked if the schoolboy wanted any chips.

When he refused, the man drove off towards Mitcheldean.

Police are urging children and parents to be vigilant.

The boy was approached between 6.40pm and 7.30pm on Monday July 23.

He described the man as white, 6ft 1ins tall, in his 30s or 40s and with stubble.

Police say there is no evidence of malicious intent but parents and children in the area need to remain vigilant.
