RESIDENTS across the Forest of Dean will gather on Sunday (November 13) to honour the armed forces members who have lost their lives at war.
Representatives of local organisations will pay their respects by taking part in parades and the laying of wreaths in all four Forest towns.
The parades have been organised by the towns’ Royal British Legion branches together with the respective town councils.
In Cinderford, a parade will leave the town council offices at 10.40am, arriving at the war memorial in the town centre by 10.45am. Wreaths and posies will be then laid ahead of two minutes silence at 11am.

Road closures: six for the Forest of Dean drivers over the next fortnightIn Coleford, a parade will leave the Forest of Dean District Council offices at 10.40am, before wreaths are laid at the Clock Tower at 10.50am. Participants will then observe the two minutes silence ahead of a service and prayer led by Rev. Sarah Bick.
In Lydney, a parade will form behind the bus station and head through town at 10.30am toward St Mary’s Church via Bathurst Park Road.
And in Newent, the parade will start at 9.30am from Lewell Street Car Park with a walk to St Mary’s Church. Dignitaries including Mayor Christine Howley will lay wreaths at the church at 11am.
