Police in Newent are appealing for information after 20 vehicles across the town were damaged in the early hours of Saturday, June 4.

Officers received the first report from a resident in Croft Road at about 7.45am and the full extent of the vandalism spree quickly became clear after further damaged vehicles were found in other streets including Court Road and The Crofts.

It is believed a key was used by the unknown offender to scratch the vehicles and in some cases scrape offensive messages into the paintwork.

The total repair bill is likely to run to thousands of pounds.

Officers are currently looking at local CCTV and urging anyone with information to come forward.
