Merrin’s knock was a commanding display of skill and temperament. He faced 143 balls, hitting 24 boundaries and five sixes at a strike rate of 124.48, before being caught by Rhys Surman off the bowling of Om Reddy.

His innings helped Aston Ingham post a formidable 387-3 from their 50 overs, leaving Thornbury all out for just 100 in reply.

The Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation praised Merrin’s performance, describing it as “great to see” and noting that it ranks among the top individual contributions in club cricket this week.

The Honours Board celebrates the finest batting and bowling displays across the county and feeds into the national board, highlighting standout talent at the grassroots level.

For Aston Ingham, Merrin’s inclusion on the board is a proud moment, reflecting not only his individual brilliance but also the strength of the team’s batting line-up this season.

Teammates have praised his ability to combine patience with aggression, building a big score while keeping the momentum for the team. Supporters and local cricket followers alike have hailed the innings as one of the finest seen in recent club matches.
