THERE will be a new face behind the counter of the village store in Blakeney.

David Mills, who has run the business for the last 22 years, is retaining the ownership but is stepping back from managing it.

He says this will allow him to focus on other projects.

The specialist property business adviser, Christie & Co sold the convenience store which is on the A48 through the centre of the village.

Jamie Williams, Retail Associate Director at Christie & Co, who led the marketing process, said: “After running the business successfully for so many years, we were able to create a new lease for David so that he retained the freehold as an investment without having to manage the business.”

The new lease has been acquired by Johnson John, a local buyer with experience in the sector.

He said: “Many thanks to Christie & Co for all of your time and effort in helping me secure Blakeney shop.

“I appreciate your expertise during the big decision of purchasing Blakeney shop.

“It felt daunting at the beginning, but you smoothed the way and explained everything so clearly. I would also like to thank Jamie Williams for the fantastic and professional support that we received from the outset.”

Previous owner, David Mills comments, “We would like to thank all customers old and new for their continued support and would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Mr Johnson John, the new shop owner, into the village.

“I look forward to a long retirement in the holiday and hospitality industry.”
