PLANS for a new Lidl supermarket in Coleford are set to move a step closer to fruition next week when the German retailer’s planning application comes up for approval.

The proposed 1,815 sq metre store would sit on a 1.5 acre site on Lords Hill next to Pyart Court and the existing Co-op.

The application, which is recommended for approval, will be discussed by the council planning committee on Tuesday.

Lidl’s UK’s regional head of property, Glen Stidever, has praised the support the company has received from the Coleford community.
