THE Wilderness Centre has now been sold – and the new owner has pledged that it is to remain as an educational centre. Last week, 72-year-old Drybrook man John Timbrell tried to invoke an ancient common law to prevent the sale of the Mitcheldean centre. But Mr Timbrell's legal challenge failed when Judge Michael Harington said that his claim had no legal basis in law, after which Mr Timbrell tried to arrest the High Court judge. The judge took exception to this outburst and sentenced the former police officer to 21 days in prison for contempt of court.
