A LITTLDEAN woman says her young son could have been crushed, after a heavy solar panel controller crashed through the attic hatch of their home.

Zoe Pflug, a Two Rivers tenant, said: "I was coming up the stairs and there was an almighty bang. It was so loud that the neighbours heard it and came over to see what had happened.

"It's a great big massive metal unit. It bust the polystyrene off the hatch and dented the wood when it came down. It also ripped the carpet.

"It looks like it was just held onto a thin piece of wood in the attic with two small wooden screws."

Zoe added: "We've had problems with the ventilation system and it's very mouldy and wet in the attic so the wood must have rotted away.

"If it had happened half-an-hour earlier my son would have been coming out of his room to go to the toilet and it could have crushed him."
