BLAKENEY mother Karen Wood is fighting for her life after an horrific crash on the A48.
The 41-year-old was trapped in her Renault Clio after the crash on the outskirts of the village.
Ms Wood is believed to have been on her way to work at the Oasis dental surgery in Lydney where she is practice manager.
After being freed from the wreckage by firefighters, the former Whitecross School pupil was taken by ambulance to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol with serious injuries.
Ms Wood, who has a teenage son Joe, had surgery during the weekend and remains in a critical but stable condition.
The crash happened during the early morning rush-hour last Wednesday and closed the busy road for more than five hours. Her Renault Clio was involved in a collision with a Ford Fiesta at about 8.10am just south of the Nibley cross-roads.
