A 36-year-old Minsterworth man who assaulted a police officer has been conditionally discharged for a year by Cheltenham magistrates.

Martin Goodwin of Hygrove Lane pleaded guilty to assaulting PC Bace by beating him when he was in the course of his duties as an emergency worker at Cheltenham on June 12 last year.

Goodwin was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £22 victim services surcharge.
