THE County League is limiting the number of teams in its set-up to 90 for next season.
That will mean relegation for plenty of sides in mid-table positions who probably thought they were safe from the dreaded drop.
Any side finishing in the bottom six of Division Nine – which could include Aston Ingham II and Highnam Court II – is likely to be relegated back to the feeder leagues.
The revamp starts at the top.
With Bourton Vale already accepted into the West of England Gloucestershire Division for 2012, two or possibly three teams face relegation from that division.
Cinderford St John and Redmarley are both scrapping it out to avoid finishing in those positions.
For sides already in the County League, it is probable that it will be two up and three down from Divisions One to Four.
Lower down the pyramid, there will be more radical changes.
Two teams will be promoted from each division, but it looks like five teams down from Division Five, seven teams down from Division Six, six down from Division Seven and a whopping eight teams relegated from Division Eight.
Those numbers could increase further, depending on the final positions further up the league pyramid.
Two teams will still be invited to join County League Division Five from the feeder leagues.
This could mean Parkend or possibly Yorkley stepping up from the KW Bell League.
