POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was seen “waving a machete around” in Cinderford.

It was reported that a man was seen wielding a “machete-like” blade and shouting at members of the public on Valley Road on Saturday, October 29.

The incident is thought to have happened between 10.30am and 10.35am, when the man was seen exiting a silver Mercedes with the personalised registration L3YPC.

A statement from Gloucestershire Police said: “This lasted for around five minutes before the man then got back into the vehicle and drove away.

“The man was described as white, bald, short and of average build, wearing blue jeans.

“One man was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been release on police bail with conditions.”

Investigating officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
