A MAN has been charged with armed robbery offences in relation to an incident at Lea Garage on the A40 at around 7.45pm on Wednesday February 18.

Armed officers attended the location after an emergency call was made to the police.

Adam Hawkins, 44, of Hazel Road, Drybrook, Gloucestershire, appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court, last Wednesday (March 18) charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm while committing the offence.

Hawkins, who only confirmed his personal details to the magistrates, was remanded to prison ahead of his next court hearing at Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday April 15.

Detective Inspector Dave Knight said at the time of the incident that an increased police presence would be in the area while enquiries were carried out.
