A BMW garage boss was allegedly three times over the drink drive limit when he blasted three people with a pump action shotgun at a clay pigeon shoot, a court was told.
David Richards, 43, of Glasshouse Hill Cottage, May Hill, is accused of wounding Graham Wheeler, 68, with intent to do grievous bodily harm on November 27 last year.
He is also charged with attempting to wound Trudy Chinn, 55, and Paul Murray, 39, during the incident at Longhope.
Richards, who runs Gloucester Independent BMW Specialists, made a brief preliminary appearance before Gloucester Crown Court yesterday and was then bailed until May 30.
Judge Jamie Tabor QC adjourned the case after questioning whether the charges of deliberately intending to cause harm were correct given the circumstances of the case.
He asked the prosecution to consider whether it would be more appropriate to treat it as a case of recklessness rather than deliberation.
