Police in the Forest of Dean arrested a man on suspicion of poaching on Tuesday.

The arrest follows a report received on Thursday, March 24, of a man slitting a deer's throat and dragging it to his vehicle in woodland in Alvington.

A 44-year-old man from Alvington was arrested on suspicion of deer poaching on Tuesday, March 29 in connection with the incident and has been bailed to attend Gloucester Police Station on May 31, pending further enquiries.
