A 42-year-old Lydney woman who admitted sending indecent or grossly offensive Facebook messages to another woman has been sentenced to do 60 hours of unpaid work.

Jessica Lane, of Par Four Lane, Lydney, was also placed on a one year community order by Cheltenham magistrates and ordered to pay costs and a surcharge totalling £180.

The court ordered her to take part in 20 days of rehabilitation activities and made a one year restraining order which forbids her from contacting her victim.

Lane had pleaded guilty to a charge that between February 1 and March 31 this year she sent an electronic communication to another woman which was in whole or part indecent or grossly offensive and for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to the recipient.
