SHOPS in Lydney will be turned purple in aid of Cancer Research UK’s Relay For Life.

Forest of Dean Relay For Life committee fundraisers are attempting the challenge as part of a team effort to raise money for the charity.

Julie Drew is part of the committee who are taking part in the overnight celebration of life and hope at Freedom Leisure on June 24.

Ms Drew said: “I am very excited about the whole of Lydney turning purple, the business owners of Lydney have been so supportive about this. With the Support of John Thurston from Watts group, we will be having the old Scott shoe shop for the weekend to raise money and awareness.

“We are absolutely delighted that Lydney shops have decided to support Cancer Research UK’s Relay For Life.”
