Charlton Kings v Lydney
LYDNEY'S policy of getting a score on the board and backing their bowlers to defend it worked a treat again.
Jonny Kear and Will Jones have forged a reliable opening partnership with the bat this season and the pair put on 173 for the first wicket to set their team up nicely.
Kear hit 10 fours in his 111-ball innings of 91, before being run out.
Will Jones was first man out, lbw to Kevin Trouw for 70 after also facing 111 balls.
Lydney closed on 218-6 after 45 overs.
Charlton Kings struggled against the bowling of Ed Jones and Peter Glynn.
Former Redmarley player Kevin Trouw faced 22 deliveries before he was trapped lbw b Jones for a slow, agonising duck.
Jones returned fine figures of 11-2-25-2 and Glynn 11-2-28-1.
Will Jones (3-39) and Paul Morris (2-38) then got among the wickets, leaving James Legge (1-5) and Jack O'Connell (1-0) to polish the Kings innings off in the 43rd over for 141.
