A 48-year-old Lydney man has been jailed for 12 weeks for failing to provide a blood specimen when he was suspected of a driving offence in Tidenham.

Magistrates at Cheltenham also disqualified Daniel Gwilym of Augustus Way, Lydney, from driving for five years.

They said the prison term was merited because of Gwilym’s previous record for motoring offences.

Gwilym pleaded guilty to failing without reasonable excuse to provide a blood specimen on December 4 2022 when suspected of driving in Tidenham and of committing a Road Traffic Act offence.
