A 24 year-old Lydney man convicted of assaulting two women in Cheltenham last year has been sentenced to a community order with alcohol treatment and ordered to pay his victims compensation of £100 each.

Toby Pearce of Naas Lane denied assaulting Gwen Butcher and Freya Khan by beating in Cheltenham on 26th Feb last year but was found guilty of both offences.

Cheltenham Magistrates sentenced him to a 12 months community order with treatment for alcohol dependency for nine months.

As well as ordering him to pay compensation to the victims, the magistrates also told him he will hace to pay £300 costs and a £95 surcharge.
