A 43 year-old Lydney man who admitted assaulting a man and woman, shouting threats and abuse outside a couple’s home, and damaging plant pots owned by one of his victims has been placed on a community order with requirements to have alcohol and mental health treatment.
Adam O’Donnell of Church Road, Lydney, pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates Court to assaulting Shauna Lancaster and Paul Ireland by beating them on January 16 2023 in Lydney.
He also admitted damaging plant pots owned by Valerie Preest on the same day - and going to the home of Ms Preest and Mr Ireland between September 17 2022 and January 17 2023 and causing them to fear violence by shouting abuse and threats, kicking and banging on their door, using violence towards them and damaging their property.
The magistrates sentenced him to a two year community order with six months treament for alcohol dependency and 24 months mental health treatment.
He was also required to participate in an accredited probation programme for up to 30 days.
He was ordered to pay £100 compensation to Mr Ireland and £50 compensation for the damage done to the plant pots.
The magistrates further ordered him to pay £85 prosecution costs.
A two year restraing order was also imposed, requiring him not to contact Mr Ireland or Ms Preest and not to go to a specified address in Lydney.
