LYDNEY CC were unable to defend a total of 173-7 away at Bredon, losing by five wickets.

Jon Kear (49) and Ed Jones (40) were the leading run scorers in the Lydney innings, with Jake Bonser (24) and Charlie Bendall (26) also passing 20.

Clive Fenney's 70 not out put Bredon in complete control and they reached their target in the 39th over. Two young players elevated from the Lydney second XI, Jordan Stone and Ben Nelmes, both picked up a couple of wickets apiece.
