AN arsonist who caused £45,000 worth of damage to train carriages at the Dean Forest Railway in Lydney earlier this year is to be sentenced at Gloucester Crown Court.

Paul Irving, of Steel Avenue, Lydney, appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates on November 10 and gave an indication that he would plead guilty to damaging the carriages by fire, either intending to destroy or damage them or being reckless whether they would be destroyed or damaged on March 24 this year.

The magistrates committed him to the crown court for sentence on Thursday, December 8.  He was granted unconditional bail.
