THREE Newent cricketers, Chris Germaine, Alex Townsend and Polly Griffiths, attended the NatWest National Outstanding Service to Cricket Awards at the Lord's Cricket Ground this week.

Hosted by BBC Radio Test Match Special commentator Jonathan Agnew, the event brought together more than 350 people from across the country, to celebrate their achievements in a variety of volunteering roles.

Chris Germaine was runner-up in the national award, an outstanding achievement.
