A 19-year-old Longhope man whose careless driving caused serious injury to another person has been banned from the roads for a year and ordered to do 150 hours of unpaid work for the community.
Connor Ferris-Summers, of Hopes Hill, pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court to driving a Ford Transit without due care and attention on Stroud Road, Gloucester, on July 18 last year and in doing so causing serious injury to Steven Pardoe.
As well as the 12 month driving ban and a community order with unpaid work requirement, the magistrates ordered Ferris-Summers to pay £85 costs and a £114 surcharge.
They said they took into account his early guilty plea, his remorse and the “generous comments of the injured party.”
