A 40-year-old Longhope man who denies driving while disqualified and unfit through alcohol, resisting a police officer and other motoring offences is to stand trial at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court in March.

Martin Jones of Brook End, Longhope, has pleaded not guilty to driving a Ford Ranger on Church Road, Longhope, on November 2 2022 while disqualified and while unfit through drink. He has also denied failing to stop after an accident in which a Peugeot Boxer was damaged on the same date.

He has also denied failing to provide a breath specimen to police without reasonable excuse and resisting a constable in the execution of her duty at his home, also on November 2.

The magistrates granted him unconditional bail pending trial on March 20.
