FORESTERS turned the Dean red, white and blue over the Jubilee Bank Holiday to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

From flypasts to flag waving, families across the Dean joined in the anniversary celebrations with gusto.

Towns and villages refused to let the wet weather put a dampener on their plans as the Dunkirk spirit prevailed.

Some street parties had to be hastily moved indoors to avoid the rain but that didn't stop everybody having a good time.

And as the celebrations gathered momentum, many others pulled out the trestle tables or arranged impromptu barbecues so they could join in the party.

Many made their own fun and some watched the pageantry on TV, while others flocked in their hundreds to organised events such as the Proms in the Park at Speech House.

And the grand finale was the lighting of a dozen beacons across the Dean.
