A LLAMA keeper and his wife have won their five-year battle to live on their Alvington farm.
Alastair Fraser and his wife Moira were delighted with a planning inspector’s decision to allow them to build livery stables and live on site at their Severnwye Farm, located off Spout Hill.
The couple’s plans to retain a mobile home on the farm as well as build two stable blocks, at the farm off Spout Hill that was originally turned down by Forest planners on January 13.
However, a subsequent application to diversify the business that included the construction of two stable blocks and an equestrian arena was approved by Forest planners in July of this year.
Planning Inspector Yvonne Wright overturned the original planning refusal and stated that because of the new equine business she felt there was an essential need for a worker to live at the site.
She also concluded that the couple, who have owned the site since 2004, had proven a clear intention to diversify the existing rural business.
Mr Fraser said:”The decision is absolutely fantastic. I cannot describe the way I felt when I was told the news. We can now get on with our lives."
