CINDERFORD residents came out in their hundreds to prove the town's Christmas lights aren't the worst in the country.
Last month, the Daily Mail ran an online story about how Cinderford' s would suffer because of health and safety regulations – with the headline 'Are these the worst Christmas lights in Britain'?
Cinderford Town Council was told it had to pay £60 to 'stress test' each column that would hold the lights, amounting to a total bill of more than £2,000 – which the council did not have allocated in its budget.
Despite this, hundreds of children and adults flocked to see Santa switch-on the Christmas lights in the town centre.
Hundreds of children queued to see Santa while people enjoyed what was on offer at the Christmas market stalls dotted in and around the Triangle
