LABOUR leader Bruce Hogan (pictured) is taking a month off after suffering a stroke.
The 61-year-old teacher spent nine days in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital after falling ill at home in Lydbrook.
Cinderford councillor Di Martin will take over during his absence. Coun Hogan said: "It took two scans to detect the area of damage so mercifully it is very small and I haven't lost any motor functions.
"But the doctors say the most dangerous time is a month after a stroke so I am taking their advice and taking things easy."
