I AM worried about youth unemployment. When you have a job and wages you feel part of society.
I imagine that if you don't have these advantages, you might feel antagonistic to society which might even result in anti-social behaviour.
Unemployment is destroying a whole generation and sending some into the Army to fight on behalf of those greedy men out for oil and other commodities for which they use young men as cannon fodder.
As I've said before, there are plenty of jobs that need doing: mending roads, setting up wind turbines, harnessing the power of the tides, house insulation, improving services.
Money would be needed for all this. So we'd need taxes.
The Robin Hood tax is another topic I've mentioned before.
This tax on currency speculation taxed at a mere quarter per cent would raise 250 billion dollars a year worldwide.
The UN says this is needed to wipe out the worst forms of poverty, to clean up our ravaged environment and to provide basic health care, nutrition, education, clean water and sanitation for every person on Earth.
Also, the Government could make laws to follow up those people who make their profit in this country and then spend it abroad in tax havens.
But, of course, our present Government is not going to tax the rich.
