CINDERFORD man Elliott Morgan who went berserk and launched a ferocious attack on two friends left one of them so badly battered that his face looked like a 'squashed beetroot,' a court heard.
During the frenzied assault, the 28-year-old made death threats to one of his victims and gouged his eyes, telling him 'You will never see again,' Gloucester Crown Court heard.
Jailing Morgan for six years, Judge Jamie Tabor QC told him it had been an inexplicable and horrifying attack.
"You are going to have to look into your inner soul and psyche to understand what sparked off this terrifying violence that night so that you never do this sort of thing again," the judge said.
