MATT Jackson rubbed shoulders with the best darts players in the world at two Players' Championship events in Derby last weekend.
The tournaments were for the top 128 PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) players in the world.
On Saturday, Matt came back from 4-1 down to beat former UK Open finalist Gary Mawson (USA) by 6-5 in an exciting match.
He then lost another close game with 16th seed Co Stompe (Holland) by 6-4.
Matt had chances to win, but got edged out by the experienced 2000 BDO World Darts Championship semi-finalist.
On Sunday, Matt was in action again in another Players' Championship event.
This time, he lost 6-3 to Dennis Smith. It was 3-3 at one point of the match.
Matt earned his professional PDC tour card the hard way, at the PDC Pro Tour Qualifying School in Wigan in January.
The 26-year-old from Cinderford has gained sponsorship from Marshall Griffiths and will be in action again this weekend, at the UK Open qualifier in Barnsley.
