BROADWELL teenager Jack Walby co-drove Shon Rees (Impreza) to victory on last weekend's Team GMF Rally Time-Trial.

The first time pairing (pictured) had a ding-dong battle with Theo Bengry (Focus WRC) on the slippery Sweet Lamb roads.

Just three seconds separated them going into the final stage, but Rees took another five seconds off his main rival to clinch the win. Delighted Jack, the son of Welsh champion Martyn Walby, said: "I have had a fabulous day and Shon is some driver."

Bob Morgan and Mark Dennis (Impreza) came an excellent fourth overall and second in class. This was Mark's first ever event.

Graham Davies and Tiffany Bollands were ninth overall and second in class. They also won the best Talbot Sunbeam award. Just behind them were Mal Stuart and daughter Caroline in another Sunbeam.

Colin Webb and Mike Jode won their class and finished 11th overall in a newly built BMW 325.

Ronnie Taylor and Kevin Lane (Escort) came home 16th overall and first in class, while Peter Eden and David Lock were 14th and third in class in a Mark I Escort.

Jason Worgan and Tom Marrott (Impreza) made an excellent start but had to retire with suspension failure on stage three.

Jason Morgan and Gareth Pritchard (Impreza) rolled out on stage five.
