THIRTY houses are to be built in Newent despite serious concerns over flooding.
The development, on a field off the aptly named Watery Lane and Bradfords Lane, includes 12 affordable houses. It will result in a contribution of £5,880 towards the local library.
Christine George, a local resident, said: "We are extremely concerned with the proposed project because of the loss of natural drainage.
