FRIENDS and family of a seven-year-old boy who was knocked down by a car have banded together with local businesses to provide his grandparents with enough money to visit him in hospital.

Logan Harding was seriously injured in the accident two weeks ago. He was left in a coma after being knocked off his bike in Broadwell, where he lives with his grandparents and two brothers following the death of his mother from breast cancer.

Logan made good progress of the Bank Holiday weekend, having been removed from his ventilator he opened his eyes and gave his family a 'thumbs up' from his hospital bed.
