PIT owner Richard Harding says he's been broken into at least a dozen times. On each occasion, he says his main fear is that he will find a dead body in his Haywood Drift mine.

Richard says thieves who repeatedly target his mine in search of machinery are senselessly risking their lives, because black damp is present underground - a mixture of gases that can lead to asphyxiation in seconds.
