GFA Senior Amateur North County Cup

Semi-Final

Harrow Hill 4

Frampton United 3

after extra-time)

PLUCKY Harrow Hill came back from 2-0 down to book their place in the County Cup final and a showdown with Brockworth Albion.

Hill could not have made a worse start. They failed to clear properly and a challenge 25 yards out resulted in the ball ballooning back over the head of goalkeeper Simon Reid into the net.

Hill then conceded again after being caught napping at a corner.

Frampton were dominant and could easily have gone further in front. Hill, desperately struggling to get into the contest, got a lifeline just before the interval when Tom Partridge scrambled the ball home from a corner.

Harrow Hill looked like a different side in the second half.

They chased every ball and did not give their opponents time or space.

Eddie Weyman slammed the equaliser – blasting home from 18 yards after gathering a Martin Reid through-ball.

Hill went in front 10 minutes from time through Lee Morton, who chested the ball down and volleyed it into the net.

However, back came Frampton, snatching a late leveller to take the tie into extra-time.

Hill looked the fitter side in extra-time and continued to press.

They won a series of corners and one of these was laid back for Clayton Hook to side-foot into the roof of the net.

Hill came under pressure in the second period of extra-time but they defended manfully. The finish was frantic, with the ball shaving their bar and a number of scrambles ensuing, but Hill held on.

"I was really happy with the reaction of the players to come back from 2-0 down and turn it around," said Hill boss Andy Reid.

"The work rate and effort from all involved was superb and I thought the back three were outstanding, especially Hooky. I could not have asked for more from my players, they were brilliant today."
