THERE seems to be no end in sight for the longest running water leak in town!

Cinderford residents have had to put up with water running down their High Street for almost three years.

The water runs off land behind the old MPs office and is believed to come from a spring.

It's particularly hazardous for road users and pedestrians during the winter months when the water freezes over – creating a sheet of ice across the pavement and road.

But no one wants to take responsibility for the problem.

Coun Graham Morgan said: "An old councillor once told me that there used to be a well where they got water from. Later, a house was built there.

"The problem seems to be worse whenever we get wet weather. There isn't a leak during the drier months.

"We've tried for years to get something done about this.

"Severn Trent say it's the land owner's responsibility.

"It's absolutely disgraceful. It's a real hazard."
