SOME of the biggest names in the dog world will descend on Gloucestershire next summer as Hartpury University prepares to host a brand new symposium aiming to reshape how canine professionals learn, connect and support each other.
The Inside Out Symposium, created by education provider Canine Principles, will take place on Saturday, June 13 2026, running from 9am until 5pm.
With only 100 places available, organisers say the event has been designed as a calm and genuinely supportive alternative to the fast-paced conferences that many trainers, behaviourists and veterinary workers now find overwhelming.
Rather than back-to-back lectures, Inside Out will offer small breakout sessions, flexible learning spaces, quiet rooms and access to Hartpury’s green outdoor areas, allowing delegates to step away, reflect and regulate between talks.
The day has also been curated to be accessible and neurodivergent-friendly, with an emphasis on depth and compassion rather than sheer volume of content.
Jo Middleton, director of Canine Principles and curator of the symposium, said the event is a rare chance to gather leading voices under one roof: “This is a golden opportunity to gather brilliant minds from across the dog world and give them the space and quality of education they deserve. When we slow down, learn together and honour both the dog and the person supporting them, everything changes.”
Speakers include veterinary expert Dr Nick Thompson on canine hypothyroidism, longevity specialist Penny Wood on helping dogs live longer, and the Naturewatch Foundation, who will unveil new findings on UK dog breeding.
Sessions also cover neuroplasticity, emotional resilience, arthritis, practitioner wellbeing, legal essentials and supporting neurodivergent families with their dogs.
All profits will be donated to ALaw and the Naturewatch Foundation. Early Bird tickets cost £95 until 31 December, rising to £115 afterwards.
