Cinderford winger Reuben Haile scored a Twickenham hat-trick as Gloucestershire claimed their fourth under-20 county championship in five years.

Haile, a product of the Gloucester academy and former League player with Leeds Rhinos scored the county's first try and grabbed two late touchdowns.

Hampshire fly-half Chris Lewis landed three long-range penalties in the first 12 minutes before Gloucestershire centre and Lydney player Brett Turner replied with a penalty. Haile cut the deficit further when he snapped up a loose ball and sprinted home from 40 yards.

Hampshire struck again with tries from wingmen Myles Roberts-Bailey and Jaryd Robinson, a conversion from Lewis putting his side 21-8 ahead after 19 frantic minutes.

Gloucestershire responded with a try from flanker Kurt Brown that Turner goaled and though Lewis was on target again with a penalty shot, scrum-half Sam Arnott nipped through from close range for a try that Turner converted.

Wingman Spencer Sutherland put his side ahead for the first time when he crossed and Turner converted to put Gloucestershire 29-24 ahead at half-time. Lewis landed his sixth successful kick of the afternoon to reduce the arrears to two points.

Gloucestershire pulled ahead with Lydney's Tom Emery scoring a try from close range, but Hampshire hit back with their sixth penalty of the game through replacement Jack Parsons.

Again Gloucestershire hit back quickly, producing Brown's second try and a conversion from Turner before a thundering trademark burst for a try under the posts by Haile and a hat-trick score for the wingman courtesy of a pass in goal from Sutherland were both goaled by Turner.

The last word went to replacement wingman Richard Harrington after a burst by replacement hooker Callum Stonier, Turner converting.
