FOUR young riders from the Forest of Dean Riding Club will represent the region in the National Riding Club Championships at Aston-le-Walls in Northamptonshire in August.

Kelly Salter from Littledean, Rachel Tippins from Coleford and Newent pair Kathy Goulding and Sarah Heathfield beat nine other clubs to win the area qualifier in Worcestershire.

They must now take on the best in the country in a three-day competition from August 5-7.

They will compete in three disciplines, dressage, show jumping and cross-country.

Kelly said: "It was the dressage that really swung it for us in the qualifier, but we won well."
