THE Northern Quarter Regeneration scheme in Cinderford has overcome another hurdle after Friends of the Earth's latest legal challenge was thrown out of court.

As reported in last week's Forester, the campaigners sought the go-ahead to take their fight to protect the local population of Lesser Horseshoe bat to the Court of Appeal - but two of the country's top judges ruled that any appeal would have no prospect of success, and refused to grant permission.
