CINDERFORD could be getting free parking spaces even if car parking charges are introduced.

Regeneration manager Wendy Jackson outlined plans for the centre of the town which would include free car parking spaces for up to half an hour.

She outlined the plans at Cinderford Town Council where Mayor Max Coborn said it was 'mystifying' that the district council hadn't consulted with regeneration staff over the effect on the town of bringing in car parking charges.

Wendy said she also planned to try to secure funding to attract new traders into the town's empty shops.
