THE Forest of Dean move up a level in the Covid-19 Tier system, into Tier 4, with the restrictions taking effect from 0.01am Thursday December 31.
The rules, which are currently the toughest level for restrictions, include a "stay at home" order, and mean businesses such as hairdressers and gyms must close, with pubs and restaurants also forced to close apart from takeaway and delivery.
The full Tier 4 restrictions can be found on the Government website.
The Government reviews the Covid-19 Tiers every 14 days and the results of the next review are expected to be announced on Wednesday, January 13.
